Raptors Identification Training Workshop
Please note this event will take place at Tollymore National Outdoor Centre, 32 Hilltown Rd, Newcastle, Co. Down BT33 0PZ
Dr. Eimear Rooney from the Northern Ireland Raptor Study Group (NIRSG) will introduce us to species of Raptors found in Northern Ireland.
We will look at features used to identify them and what resources are available to help. Introduction in Education room, Tollymore National Outdoor Centre. Coffee/tea will be provided.
After the Introduction, we will visit the nearby grounds of Tollymore Forest Park to go on a walk and find species or signs of raptor species to identify.
- All levels of species identification experience are welcome
- Suitable clothing and footwear for outdoor fieldwork is essential
- Please consider bringing along sunscreen, a hat, water, and any bird ID guides you may have
- Please bring a packed lunch as we will be out in the field most of the day
This course is open to adults (aged 18 years+) with interest in recording Raptors (birds of prey)
