Terms & Conditions

Ticket Terms and Conditions 

For the avoidance of doubt, these terms and conditions apply to bookings to visit Ulster Museum, Ulster Folk Museum, Ulster Transport Museum and Ulster American Folk Park (referred to Museum or Museums below) 

Your booking confirmation email with booking reference must be produced as proof of booking at the time of your visit. 

For General Admissions – visitors are welcome to arrive at the museum at any point during our opening hours.  Please note, there is a recommended last entry time to allow time to visit the museum – please see our websites and booking information for details)  

National Museums NI reserves the right to refuse entry to any person under age of 16 if unaccompanied by a supervising adult. We reserve the right to ask for valid ID. 

Where a booking requires advance payment, such payment is non-refundable. Bookings for any Museum cannot be exchanged and are non-transferable. However, should you encounter extenuating circumstances please contact National Museums NI on 028 9042 8428 and we will endeavour to provide assistance. 

Booking confirmation must be retained at all times for inspection during visit.  

Advance bookings are not valid in conjunction with any other future voucher, promotion, special offer or package. 

No booking may be resold. If National Museums NI reasonably believes that a ticket has been resold, the holder may be refused entry to the Museum without payment of compensation. 

Prices may be subject to change, however, all bookings paid in advance will be honoured at the rate applied at the time of purchase. 

On some occasions, there may be photography or video recording taking place on-site. There will be signage to make you aware when this is happening. By agreeing to our Terms and Conditions you are giving consent for any images or footage captured during the day to be used for marketing on our website, socials, and as promotional material. If you have any objection, please make yourself known to a member of staff on-site or upon your arrival. If following your visit you wish to withdraw your consent please put this in writing to the data protection officer at gdpr@nationalmuseumsni.org with the relevant details of your visit to enable this to be actioned. 

A child is considered to be someone up to the age of 17. An adult is considered to be someone between the ages of 18 to 59 inclusive. 

A senior citizen is considered to be someone aged 60 and over. A student is considered to be someone aged 18 or over and in full time education. Valid ID may be requested as proof for any reduced-price ticket entry.   

An accessible adult is considered to be someone aged 18 or over with a registered disability.  An accessible child is considered to be someone aged up to the age of 17 with a registered disability.  A carer is considered to be someone attending a venue to support a person with a register disability partaking in that activity. Valid ID may be requested as proof for any reduced-price ticket entry.   

Smoking is strictly prohibited  

Pets and animals are prohibited with the exception of assistance dogs. Dogs are allowed in the outdoor areas of the Ulster Folk Museum and Ulster Transport Museum if on a short leash. 

National Museums NI reserve the right to close any part of the site, or the site in its entirety for safety, maintenance or otherwise. It may be necessary at times to alter the opening hours at each site at any time and without prior notice. If it is necessary to close all or part of the Museum temporarily for any reason, Museum staff may direct visitors to leave by certain routes, or prevent visitors from leaving by certain routes 

National Museums NI may at its sole discretion cancel your booking without notice, with immediate effect and without liability. In such circumstances National Museums NI will endeavour to contact you to organise a suitable date to reschedule your booking. 

Other than liability for death or personal injury resulting from National Museums NI negligence, National Museums NI, its employees or agents shall not be liable for any loss or damage, direct or indirect, howsoever arising, including without limitation any distress, inconvenience or anxiety caused during the course of any visit undertaken and/or during evacuation from any of the National Museums NI sites. 

 

These terms and conditions are in addition to the National Museums NI Bye Laws which shall also apply in respect of your visit to the Museums
