Pollen for Pollinators: ways to get involved
This course is open to adults (18 years+)
Pauline Campbell who is a Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA) representative on the All-Ireland Pollinator Plan Steering Group and Owen Beckett from the National Biodiversity Data Centre (NBDC) will be chatting about all things pollinators!
This morning session will include talking about how you can get involved as citizen scientists through the UK Pollinator Monitoring Scheme (PoMS) Flower-Insect Timed (FIT) counts and the All-Ireland Bumblebee Monitoring Scheme.
- All levels of species identification experience are welcome and anyone with an interest in pollinators
- Suitable clothing and footwear for the possibility of being outside during the session.
- Please bring along a camera or mobile phone (iRecord/iNaturalist app) and small note pad and pencil
- Please consider bringing along sunscreen, a hat and water
- Tea/Coffee will be provided
