Blacksmithing

Become a Blacksmith for the day at this bespoke, craft workshop on Saturday 4th July.

At the Folk Museum, we have a fantastic team of in-house skilled craftspeople who keep our heritage skills and traditions alive for future generations. Spend the entire day with one of our expert demonstrators, and make something to bring home with you!

Blacksmith, Matthew Walton, will show you around the Forge and explain traditional blacksmithing skills. Then you'll make two pieces to bring home in this hands-on experience.

Important Information:

  • Lunch is included in the price of the workshop
  • For ages 18+
  • This is an intimate workshop with limited places so booking early is recommended.
  • Please ensure to wear suitable footwear. No open toe shoes can be worn we would recommend sturdy boots are worn. Please get in touch to discuss with us further if you need any further info at info@nationalmuseumsni.org
