Introduction to Handloom Weaving

Discover the art of Handloom Weaving in this workshop for beginners on Saturday 29th August at Ulster Folk Museum. 

Our expert weaver, Joanne Glassett, will guide you on using a 4 shaft table loom throughout this one day taster session. 

You'll be introduced to the principles of hand weaving, and have the time to experiment with patterns, colours and textures in a relaxing and encouraging environment.  Take your unique woven pieces home with you, along with some suggestions for final uses.

Important Information:

  • Participants limited to 4 maximum.
  • Lunch is included in the museum tea rooms.
  • Looms will be set up in advance and you will have access to a selection of yarns with which to weave.
