Museums for Nature: Get Involved!
We are one of eight partner museums in the Museums for Nature programme in partnership with the Natural History Museum. The aim of this 2- year project is to collaborate with a dedicated team of volunteers to restore one of our ponds, a hidden gem onsite.
Volunteers will be based at the Ulster Folk Museum. You will learn about our important habitats including woodland, grassland and riparian habitats. You will receive practical training, enabling you to map the habitat, build habitat features and make decisions about the restoration work that should be done.
If you are interested in playing a part in this important project over the next two years, come along to the launch event to hear more! There will be an information session and a site tour with tea and coffee provided. Spaces are limited, so you must attend the launch in order to register interest.
This workshop is part of Museums for Nature, made possible with the National Heritage Lottery Fund.
